If you’ve never been to a cars and coffee, the name tells you most of what you need to know: people bring cars, people drink coffee, and everyone hangs out on a Saturday morning. No tickets to buy, no dress code, no test on carburetors.
Here at The Motor Enclave, we run our own version in Tampa. It’s called Cars en Coffee, and it’s become one of the most popular free car shows in Tampa. It’s also, plainly, a community event that happens to have a lot of cool cars at it.
This guide covers what a cars and coffee is, what to expect at ours, and why you don’t need to know a thing about cars to enjoy it.

What Is a Cars and Coffee?
Cars en Coffee isn’t limited to one brand, era, or budget. Past editions have featured:
A cars and coffee is a casual, informal gathering where car owners park their vehicles in one place and visitors wander through, look, chat, and grab a coffee. It started as a relaxed morning meetup for car lovers, and it’s grown into one of the easiest, most welcoming social events you’ll find in any city.
There’s no judging panel and no trophies to chase. Owners show up because they’re proud of their cars and enjoy talking about them. Visitors show up because it’s a fun way to spend a Saturday morning.
That’s what separates a cars and coffee from a traditional competitive car show. The pace is slower, the crowd is friendlier, and the barrier to entry is zero.
Cars en Coffee: Tampa’s Version, at The Motor Enclave
Cars en Coffee is our signature event, and it’s a free, open-to-the-public cars and coffee experience held on select Saturday mornings at The Motor Enclave at 6500 Motor Enclave Way in Tampa.
The setting is a big part of the draw. The show sits trackside at Hard Rock Speedway, a 1.72-mile racetrack on a 200-acre campus just minutes from downtown Tampa. At our ninth edition, around 6,000 people came through the gates, with hundreds of cars parked end-to-end along the circuit.
That makes it one of the biggest free car shows in the area, and a very different backdrop from the typical parking-lot meetup.
You Don’t Have to Be a Car Person
Cars en Coffee isn’t limited to one brand, era, or budget. Past editions have featured:
This is the part we want to be clear about: Cars en Coffee is for everyone.
You don’t need to own a car, know what’s under the hood, or tell a Porsche from a Pontiac. Plenty of people come for the atmosphere: the coffee, the music, the people-watching, the chance to get outside on a Saturday morning with friends or family. The cars are a great reason to be there, but they aren’t a requirement for having a good time.
A few of the people you’ll see at any edition:
- Families. Cars en Coffee is family-friendly, and kids tend to love the big, bold, colorful machines.
- Couples and friend groups looking for a free morning out that isn’t another brunch reservation.
- First-timers who’ve never been to a car show and aren’t sure what to expect.
- Photographers and content creators who know a good backdrop when they see one.
- Longtime gearheads who can tell you the production numbers on that 1967 Mustang whether you ask or not.
If you’re in that last group, welcome. If you’re in the others, you’re just as welcome. That’s the point.

What You’ll See: Every Kind of Car
Cars en Coffee isn’t limited to one brand, era, or budget. Past editions have featured:
Exotic Supercars
American Muscle
Classics & Vintage
JDM Builds
Motorcycles
Custom Projects
Track Cars & Collector Vehicles
Daily Drivers
Owners are usually happy to talk about their cars, and the stories are half the fun: a father-and-son restoration, a build someone spent years on, a car that’s been in the family for three generations. Asking “what’s the story with this one?” is the easiest way to start a conversation, and you don’t need to know any jargon to ask it.
What to Expect on the Day
Every edition is a little different, but the core formula stays the same:
- Coffee. It’s in the name. Local coffee partners keep the crowd caffeinated, and at edition nine, Kahwa Coffee poured free coffee all morning.
- Food and music. Coffee, donuts, and gourmet bites, with music setting the tone.
- Photo moments. Between the cars and the speedway, there’s no shortage of good backdrops.
- Extras. Past editions have included wellness activations (including a live cold plunge demo) and Thrill Ride off-road and autocross hot laps for guests who want a little more adrenaline.
- A real community feel. At edition nine, the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation launched its “Rally Funds the Cure” campaign on site. It’s the kind of event where people come together for more than the cars.

Tips for Your First Cars en Coffee
- Arrive early. Mornings are the best time to see the lineup fill in, and you’ll have more room to wander and take photos.
- Wear comfortable shoes. It’s an outdoor, walk-around event on a large campus.
- Bring sun protection. It’s Florida. The track doesn’t come with a lot of shade.
- Ask questions. Owners love sharing their stories. A simple “tell me about this one” goes a long way.
- Look with your eyes, not your hands. Treat every car like it’s someone’s pride and joy, because it is. Ask before touching or leaning on a vehicle.
- Bring the whole crew. Kids, parents, friends, neighbors. It’s a free event, so there’s no cost to bringing everyone.
- Tag your photos with #CarsEnCoffee so we can see what you captured.
Want to Bring Your Own Car?
Show cars are free too. Owners can participate at no cost, and the event is open to all kinds of builds, from supercars to daily drivers. If you’re planning to bring a vehicle, check the Cars en Coffee page and our FAQ for the latest participation details before the day.
Optional Upgrades
The event itself is free, but there are a few optional extras for guests who want to level up the morning:
- VIP Brunch. Includes VIP parking near the event, a private brunch section with gourmet food and drinks, prime viewing of the show, and complimentary coffee and donuts.
- Premium parking. Available as part of the VIP upgrade.
- Thrill rides. Optional rides run during the event window for guests who want to feel the track from the inside.
More Than a Car Show: A Community Event
Cars en Coffee works because it brings people together. Neighbors meet neighbors. Kids see their first Lamborghini. A guy with a 20-year-old Civic gets just as many compliments as the person next to him with a six-figure exotic.
That’s what makes it one of the best free community events in Tampa, and a good example of what social events can look like when the barrier to entry is zero: show up, grab a coffee, and meet someone new.

Where It Happens: The Motor Enclave
The Motor Enclave is a 200-acre motorsports campus on I-75 at the I-4 interchange, next to Tampa Executive Airport. Beyond Cars en Coffee, it’s a Tampa event venue and event space with a 42,000-square-foot Event Center (up to 1,200 guests), the Enclave Beach Club, Pirelli Pit Lane, and the Driver’s Lounge.
Cars en Coffee gives the Tampa community a free look at the space. If you’re planning something of your own, from a corporate retreat to a wedding or a private celebration, explore our event venue and corporate events pages.
